A Journey In Co-Creation
Creating a custom painting is a deeply personal and transformative experience, and I approach every commission with the utmost care and attention. My goal is to co-create a piece that is not only meaningful to you but also reflects my own lived experiences and artistic vision.
The Process
Step One
Initial Conversation/In-Person Consultation
When you first reach out, we will discuss your ideas, inspirations, and the emotions or themes you’d like the painting to convey. Whether it’s a specific scene, a memory, a color palette, or a deeply symbolic concept, I want to understand the heart of your vision. If that sounds intimidating to you, have no fear! I have specific questions that will guide you as you make these considerations. If you are local to Houston, I’m happy to come into your space and consult with you on the size and/or location of the piece within your home.
Step Two
Creating the Artwork
With a clear understanding of your vision, I begin crafting the painting. I use a multi-medium approach that allows me to bring depth and texture to the piece. Incorporating elements such as embroidery, quilting, paint pouring, collage, and abstract mark-making, I blend traditional and experimental techniques to create a dynamic composition. Each layer, whether it's the tactile threads of embroidery or the fluidity of paint pouring, tells a part of the story—merging your personal narrative with my own lived experience as an artist. This process allows the painting to unfold in unexpected ways, resulting in a truly unique and layered work of art.
Step Three
Final touches
Once the painting is complete, I’ll share it with you for any final thoughts or adjustments. I want you to feel completely connected to the piece, knowing it is a true reflection of what we set out to create together.
Step Four
Delivery
After any last tweaks, the painting will need to remain in my studio to dry/cure for anywhere from 2-6 weeks to ensure safe transportation. I’ll carefully prepare the painting for delivery or installation, ensuring it reaches you in perfect condition.

Commissions start at $750 and go up depending on the size and complexity of the piece
